For this edition of member news, we are happy to share some updates from Europrim Shipping, our member in Romania. Recently, the company has successfully concluded the development of a very challenging operation involving the shipment of a chemical processing factory. 

The project has been launched in September 2017 and consisted of the transshipment of a chemical processing factory of over 25000 cbm and 5000 tons, originating from Thailand, China, India, and some European factories, having as final destination Krasnodar Kray, Russian Federation.

At the request of Europrim’s partners, the company’s project team handled and coordinated all the activities involving the receiving of the cargo in the Constanta terminal, cargo survey, inland haulage between different quays, protecting the equipment with tarpaulins, terminal cargo plan and efficient storage organization. They were also in charge of obtaining different licenses from the state authorities, performing customs formalities and professional lashing on the departing vessels to Novorossisk.

During the 1 year period, Europrim’s project cargo department professionally handled all the processes involved in the operation, guaranteeing the safety of the shipment throughout its entire journey.

Milestone achievement 

With this project, since its inception in 2015, Europrim’s Special Projects department exceeded the 100,000 cbm milestone of transshipment cargoes. As by now, Europrim Shipping is well-recognized on a regional scale as one of the leading specialists in handling the transshipping of awkward, heavy, breakbulk and special projects cargo via the Romanian hub port of Constanta.
