Logistics Plus named a top 3PL provider by Multichannel Merchant

January, 2018

Logistics Plus has recently been selected by Multichannel Merchant as a Top 3PL Provider for 2018.  Third-party logistics providers (3PLs) have been growing in importance in recent years as e-commerce sales continue to skyrocket. More merchants are looking to outsource critical operations and fulfillment duties, which in many cases fall outside their core strengths. A trusted 3PL partner can free them up to focus on other aspects of growing and managing their business. Logistics Plus has developed a solid reputation with a growing number of merchants and retailers requiring a variety of logistics solutions, including importing, exporting, transportation, warehousing, and fulfillment.

The company profiles in the Multichannel Merchant (MCM) Top 3PL listing include vital information to help merchants in their selection process, including key capabilities, average annual client order volume, top merchandise categories handled, facility locations and more.

E-commerce and omnichannel distribution strategies are becoming commonplace among retailers,” said Jim Berlin, founder, and CEO of Logistics Plus. “Logistics Plus continues to change and adapt to this important and growing segment of logistics that not only relies on traditional transportation management services but also, increasingly, data management and specialized reporting solutions. Being named a top 3PL provider by the respected editors at Multichannel Merchant is an honor for us, and a confirmation that we’re doing the right things needed to serve the logistical needs of the merchant community.

Logistics Plus Acquires Lynx Fulfillment

November, 2017

Logistics Plus has announced this month that it has acquired complete ownership of Lynx Fulfillment, LLC. Prior to the acquisition, Lynx Fulfillment was partially-owned by Logistics Plus. As part of the agreement, Lynx Fulfillment will be rebranded as Logistics Plus Fulfillment Solutions (aka LP Fulfillment). Additionally, Patrick Randolph, the Managing Director and partial-owner of Lynx Fulfillment, has joined Logistics Plus to head up its fast-growing LP Fulfillment division.

Lynx Fulfillment is based in Olean, NY with over 40,000 square feet of dedicated warehousing and fulfillment space. It has a second 10,000 square-foot operation located in Carson, CA. The company, which specializes in customized pick, pack, and ship order fulfillment solutions, has over 60 clients and employs over a dozen experienced warehousing, fulfillment and customer service specialists. All assets and employees were transitioned to Logistics Plus effective November 1, 2017.

“This is great news for both Lynx and LP clients,” said Randolph.  “Lynx clients will enjoy the same personalized and professional services they had before, but now, as part of a larger, global organization, they’ll have access to additional services and resources. LP clients benefit by getting ready-access to additional warehousing and fulfillment capabilities, which now include well over one-million square feet of warehousing space at multiple locations across North America.

We’re excited to welcome Patrick and the Lynx Fulfillment team into the larger Logistics Plus family,” said Jim Berlin, founder and CEO for Logistics Plus. “Our fulfillment solutions continue to be an area of high-growth and high-interest for us. As an approved member of the Amazon Solutions Provider Network, I see even more growth opportunities for us going forward. Having Patrick and his team on board will really take this key area to the next-level.

Logistics Plus: One of Houston’s most inspiring stories

August, 2017

The VoyageHouston magazine has included Logistics Plus in their Houston’s Most Inspiring Stories collection.

The Logistics Plus Houston office – one of over forty locations around the world – is located in the North Loop area of Houston. Port Houston is an important gateway for the Logistics Plus International and Project Cargo teams.  Additionally, the Houston office plays a key role in the U.S./Mexico cross-border logistical activities.

Since Logistics Plus is a rising star in the State of Texas, the folks at VoyageHouston were kind enough to interview Jim Berlin, founder and CEO of the logistics company. Jim founded Logistics Plus in 1996 with only three employees, one customer and a $120,000 purchase order. 20 years later, the company counts on 400 employees serving thousands of customers all around the world, and over $150 million in global sales.

In the interview Jim Berlin briefly talks about his story and how was the journey to get where he is today. He also tells about Logistics Plus: “Whether it moves by air, by ocean, on the highway or on a rail, we know how to move stuff really well. We’re also well known for moving really big stuff that other companies either can’t or won’t touch (often in or out of the Port of Houston). We find a way to do it because logistics is in our DNA.”

Then, when asked about how he thinks the industry will change over the next decade, Jim says that although all the changes in technology, things are pretty much the same in logistics, they are just faster. According to the Logistics Plus’ founder, “there may/will be more apps and drones and robots doing a lot of the work but, if you look around your office or your home or the bar or restaurant you’re sitting in, everything came from somewhere. Someone packed it and shipped it and moved it and delivered it, and I don’t ever see that changing.”

Logistics Plus opens new warehousing operation in California

January, 2017

Logistics Plus is proud to announce that, in the beginning of 2017, it established a long-term, full-building warehousing and fulfillment operation located in Ontario, California. The 272,448-square-foot building sits on 11 acres, 1.5 miles from Interstate 15, and features a fully secured yard, excellent freeway access, and 64 loading doors.

In addition to its new Ontario facility, Logistics Plus has an existing Los Angeles warehouse located in Carson, California.  The expanded presence in Southern California was driven by the Company’s recent growth of supply chain solutions provided to WeWork, the world’s leading co-working space provider, and increased demand from Amazon retailers seeking third-party import, warehousing and fulfillment services.

Tanks Transportation

September, 2016

LP organized the transport of 4 huge empty NH3 tanks from the yard in Onsan, South Korea to the yard in Portland, OR – USA.

The tanks each measured up to 30 meters in length, 24 meters in width and 17 meters in height, each weighing up to 1038 metric ton. At those dimensions and weight, the vessel used for this transport was one of only two sister vessels in the world that can lift these tanks in a single lift.

The entire project took over one year of careful planning and engineering; but in the end, Logistics Plus found all of the right partners and resources needed to successfully execute this project cargo move.
